And So It Is

Well - we all know how this 2012 Presidential Election turned out. I will not lie - last night I was beyond disappointed. Sad, really. The very idea of a Priesthood holder in the Oval Office was exciting. I can only believe amazing things could happen in this country with a leader that turned to our Heavenly Father with such regularity and faith. I'm not saying President Obama doesn't have faith - I just don't believe it can begin to rival Romney's.

I obviously do not agree with President Obama's policies, ideals, beliefs for the most part. I could not watch his acceptance speech last night and hear the same words uttered from his mouth. I could not listen to more of the same promises and rhetoric. I am in no way saying Romney was the perfect candidate. No one is. But with the direction of this country I would have preferred him by leaps and bounds as a President. However, this being said, I can not hate on Mr. Obama. He is an honorable husband, a good father, and I do believe he truly feels that his views are beneficial for this country. I do not buy into the theories that he is out to destroy America. What he enacts as President may change our country in ways that I would never dream of; but I am certain he feels it is right in his heart. I cannot hate a man for his beliefs.

Moving forward I will pray for President Obama and his cabinet. I will pray for our senators and representatives. I will pray that they can all be influenced by the Spirit for good. And I will strive to live the best life that I can within my sphere of influence.
