Ellinor's Birthday Weekend!
Ellinor is officially a one year old!! She is the ABSOLUTE CUTEST one year old that I have ever seen. Ellinor had a very busy, fun packed weekend with family and friends. She is currently sleeping to catch up on the lack thereof - usually the result of a crazy good time. We had my parents, Seth and Caleb, and Andrew and Jeff come into town for this occasion. It was wonderful having them here to help us celebrate - I couldn't have imagined the festivities without family around. It was sad to see them leave today, but I'm grateful for the time we had all together.
Friday, the 24th, was Ellinor's official birthday. At 10:15am she went from my tiny little baby to my beautiful one year old daughter. Bryan and I still cannot believe how this last year has flown by. I remember the day Ellinor was born like it was yesterday. I couldn't have imagined that tiny little newborn as this boisterous amazing baby I have today. I am more in love with our daughter every day. Ellinor's personality is hilarious and fun. She is a total joy to be around and brings unimaginable happiness into Bryan's and my life.
Here are few Ellinor'isms today:
* Her favorite thing to say is "uh-oh." She coughs out the 'uh' part as if she needs the momentum of coughing to say it. Haha. She will lay on her changing table and throw every single diaper and item on the floor just so she can say 'uh-oh' each time.
* She is starting to take little steps from one piece of furniture to another, as long as her hands can hover near them. As soon as she decides it's time, she will be walking in a breeze.
* Ellinor can stand alone for a couple of minutes before she tumbles back down. Working on that balance. :)
* She is on all normal foods, after waking up one morning and deciding she is threw with baby food, period. It was an overnight decision on her part. Some of her favorites are bananas, chicken nuggets, anything pasta or rice, and green beans. We also discovered yesterday that she LOVES guacamole.
* She continues to dance the days and nights away. Her grooving is not inhibited by anything - it truly does seem like another part of breathing for her as frequently as she is dancing.
* Ellinor is quite the little daddy's girl. Mom is cool until he walks in the door, then all bets are lost. Daddy and her have tons of fun together playing, growling at each other, and just having adventures.
There are SO MANY things about Ellinor that I would love to share, but that would take pages and pages to read.
On Friday, for her birthday, we just spent time together as a family and enjoyed having Grandma and Grandpa and uncles in town. She wore a cute birthday outfit from Grandma Foster and had a fabulous time playing with toys and all her people. Saturday, the 25th, we hosted Ellinor's birthday party. We had some more family and friends come over to party. It was great to watch Ellinor float around in the adorable tutu skirt that Aunt Colleen made, complete with matching onesie and birthday hat from my friend Brittany Calkins. I don't think she could have looked more festive. Thanks ladies for your help with that!! :)
We had a big sheet cake for the rest of us, but Ellinor was given a giant cupcake for her to dig into. I don't think I've enjoyed myself around cake as much as I did that day. Haha. Ellinor loved the frosting and dug right in. She is not shy about eating anything delicious. I think everyone had a fun time watching her smear that frosting all over herself - she even tried to share with Uncle Andrew's dogs at one point. Such a giver. :) LoL. Her cheeks are still slighty pink from the frosting, but it will wear away eventually. All in the name of a good time.
The next post will be a bombardment of pictures. We had just under 700 pics taken by my camera alone between Fri and Sat. It can be hard to narrow down the ones to share on here. I hope you enjoy them - I know I could stare at them all day. But luckily I have the real thing here with me. :)

Happy Tuesday!
Ellinor is 1 in 3 days! It's ridiculous how emotional I am about it, but that doesn't temper things at all. Haha. I am so blessed to have this beautiful, healthy, smart, funny, ADORABLE little girl in my life. She truly is the best!
We have family coming in this weekend to help celebrate her birthday. I am so excited to see everyone! While UT has grown on me quite a bit since settling here, I really do regret that all my family isn't closer. I would have no qualms about my parents and siblings all living down the street from me. ;) Needless to say, we are absolutely due for a visit.
Bryan and I decided to build an ottoman for our upstairs living room this past weekend. It turned out great - thanks mostly to Bryan's handyman abilities. All I did was cut fabric, sew a few seams and bug Bryan incessantly about how things were going. LOL. Thank goodness I have a mother who is a rockstar seamstress. I basically lose all brain function when I sit down at a sewing machine (and thanks to my mother-in-law Lyne for the new machine!), so it was wonderful to have her on speed dial these past couple of days. Anyway, it was fun making a piece of furniture together for our first official home. We really do love having projects to work on - even though it can get overwhelming at times when we list them all. I am grateful that we have this beautiful home to raise our family in - what a tremendous blessing, especially in this uncertain world today.
Ellinor has a new fascination with laundry. She wants to fling clothes in and out of the laundry baskets, dresser drawers, the dryer itself, etc. She's pretty funny to watch - one of my PJ shirts can entertain her for hours. She has also taken to carrying one of my camisole tops around. She doesn't do anything with it really - just holds it in her hand while she crawls around. Occasionally she chews on it. Haha. Not sure what brought this new habit on. Just another Ellinor quirk.
I have been asked to accompany a duet for the Easter program at church this April. I'm happy to be given a reason to sit down at my piano more often. I haven't been playing much these days - so many other things seem to come first. But when I sat down yesterday to get introduced to the song I remembered how much I do love playing. Time to get the piano tuned finally and make time every day to practice. I want Ellinor to grow up hearing me play, and then play herself as soon as can reach the keyboard. She already loves to boogie on down to EVERY type of music, from shuffle on the ipod, to the commercial jingles, to drumming on the kitchen table. I'm pretty sure we have a musician on our hands. Yays! :)

Valentine's Day!
Happy Valentines Day to All! This is my first Valentine's Day with my baby girl - and my best so far! She is so dang adorable that I just can't get enough of her. Not to mention she is quite the love bug - Bryan and I really couldn't be happier. He and I decided we didn't want to brave the restaurant scene tonight as it's sure to be CRAZY out there - plus we don't have a sitter - so we are going to enjoy a nice steak dinner at home. Ellinor and I met up with him for lunch today and enjoyed some quality time. Really, we are pretty entertained just crawling around the floor with Ellinor for our evenings. Hopefully she will at least go to sleep at a decent hour tonight so Bry and I can maybe have a few minutes to ourselves. ;)
My baby turns the big 1 in 10 DAYS!!! I can't believe it! This age is so ridiculously fun that I wouldn't turn back the clock, but it seems like just yesterday I brought our tiny little girl home. While growing up the 'adults' always told me that time flies by, but since having Ellinor I finally agree with them. Next week I will post a blog dedicated to her first year - I will just say for now that I couldn't imagine my life without her. Heavenly Father has allowed me to be her mother and I will do everything I can to be worthy of that in my life.
Funny moment of the day: I was checking my tax information real quick and I noticed how oddly quiet my house was. I went to investigate the current location of Ellinor (which had been right next to me when I sat down) and found her eating half a nutty bar that she had unearthed from the bathroom garbage can. EEEEWWWW...I quickly retrieved the contraband and disposed of it properly, but I'm pretty sure she was able to ingest a decent chunk before I discovered her. Thank goodness her immune system is pretty stellar. LOL!
