Catch Up

Wow! It's been a busy couple of weeks. I figured now would be a good time to catch up on here since I finally got little Ellinor asleep.....on my bed, of course. She refuses to stay asleep in her bassinet and she freaks out if I leave her in her crib for awhile. She knows I'm not in the room with her when I do that and she is just not happy about it. But that's a battle for down the road. LOL.

Bryan and I finally painted Ellinor's room. I've been waiting to set up her room since I found out we were pregnant last June but I had to wait until we were no longer in our rental. I love the freedom to do whatever I want to this house - it's pretty awesome. We decided to use 3 different colors in Elli's room and paint a stripe design - easier said than done. Bryan thought it would help to use the chalk line to initially map out the stripe. The Home Depot salesman assured us that the chalk would be OK to use around carpet (should just vacuum right up, he said). Of course, the chalk got all over the carpet and wouldn't just vacuum up but decided to stain instead. It put us about an hour behind schedule as we frantically tried to save our brand new carpet. Crisis averted, tarps laid down and a couple of hours later the 6 inch stripe was successfully taped off around the room. The painting part went quickly and the tape prevented any paint running pretty darn well. I still have some work to do with Elli's room - working on decorating the wood letters to spell her name out over her crib and I still want to find a cute piece of art for one of the walls - but I love the paint job!  Here are some pics:

This last weekend was 'Pony Express Days' here in Eagle Mountain. Basically it was an a city celebration just for the fun of having a celebration. They had various family events taking place throughout the week, a parade on Saturday, Clint Black performed in the local amphitheater, and a carnival set up in the big park of our neighborhood. Rebecca, Elli, Bryan and I decided to venture over to the carnival on Friday evening to check it out. We attempted to use the baby carrier to bring Ellinor in -

Since she couldn't really see anything but my chest it didn't go over very well with her. Haha! She's such a cute diva. I just absolutely love her. Anyway, we ended up taking the stroller off-roading through the grass. It worked out pretty well and she was much happier laying in the shade of that than hanging out in the breeze. The carnival was small, but cute. There were vendors from the community all set up on one side, rides set up on the other with games and food trucks in between. Becca had ridden the rides the night before with Lexi, and Bryan and I aren't big ride fans so we opted for the games. Of course carnival games are such a rip off when it comes to money, but the experience is worth it every now and again. Bryan won a stuffed animal at the dart booth and I won at the booth where you shoot water at the target until it rises to the ceiling. Here are our victory poses:

Yep - I kinda rock at carnival games. ;) It was a fun weekend. The weather is finally starting to feel like summer so I'm trying to get myself and Elli outside as much as possible. I'm definitely ready for some Vitamin D doses.

I just have to laugh at my life for a minute now. Having a baby is so much fun, but it gets gross sometimes. This morning I fed Ellinor and was playing with her in my bed for a while. She was sitting up against my legs and we were singing songs and just hanging out. All of the sudden I hear the loudest explosions ever from her bottom half. Rumbles that could rival any thunder storm. I was laughing until I felt some unidentified warmth on my stomach. Fearing for myself I glanced down, and sure enough there was baby poo everywhere! She basically exploded out of her diaper, through her onesie and onto me. The worst part? It even went through my 2 layers onto my stomach. It was the grossest moment ever. Before I moved to clean up the natural disaster I grabbed my cell and took a quick pic of the whole situation (don't worry, I won't share that here). I'm always talking to Bryan about how often Ellinor feels the need to poop on me and I now I could share it with him. LOL - it was too funny.

So, adventures in the Foster household continue on. I have some great videos of Ellinor coming up in my next post - yay!
